Offence
To offend someone means disrespecting someone, and can be used about both actions and utterances that are hurtful. For schools an offence is the overarching category of events that stands juxtaposed to a good school environment. The definition of offences should be interpreted in a broad sense, including both bullying, violence, discrimination, harassment, hate speech, as well as exclusion, isolation and backbiting. However, it is not the case that every critical utterance or disagreement constitute an offence.
